Dinner? Love To...
Dinner? Love to…
Which restaurant do I want to go to? Oh honey, you decide. I’ll go anywhere. I’m easy. Except Nellio’s. You know I have a thing about their carpeting being so old. I don’t know how anyone with even a scintilla of understanding of germ science could set foot in a place with a rug that old, but really, I’m good with anywhere else. I’m easy!
Oh, but worth reminding you that I strongly dislike a steakhouse. So if we could avoid steakhouses… and while we’re it Italian, Mexican and Chinese places. I’m just trying to avoid sauces, which means I’d prefer if we could skip French and Japanese places, as well, but other than that I’m good. Really. I’ll go anywhere. Except a diner. You do know that they cook everything on the same surface from bacon to fish and meat…ugh I could vomit. So no diners. But other than that, I’m good with anything.
And if you don’t mind, let’s not go to the Foundry because the waiters are entirely incompetent. I can’t even take it. I had to ask for oil for my bread 11 times and they served the pasta course with the main course. I mean, are we at an IHOP? And normally I’d go to the Manor but have you noticed they’ve set their air conditioning to sub zero? My soup froze over just on the walk to the table from the kitchen. I can’t eat with my teeth clattering but other than that I’m open to anything. Really. I’m easy.
One more thing: do you think we could stay uptown? I have been all over the city this week and so I’d love it if we could stay local and by local I mean East 65th Street between Second and Third, which happens to be my address and ordinarily I’d go to Primola which is right there but I ate there yesterday and I think I mentioned I’m trying to keep my sauce quotient to a minimum. I’m sure we can find another place. I’m easy, whatever you want. And by that I mean, could you find a place in that location? You are so much cleverer than me! Thanks in advance. Round tables only, I may have forgotten to mention, but otherwise we are so good. Easy peasy!
By the way did I mention that we have something afterward? And by afterward I mean at 6 so if we could eat at 4:30 which I know sounds early but I need time with you and we’ll need to leave by 5 to get downtown. Which only leaves us about 30 minutes.
I did mention that event, right? And that the Johnsons would be joining us? Oh my gosh: did I forget to mention them? And you know, he’s a doll but she’s a nightmare about where she eats. Can’t be near a window. Can’t have her back to the door. Ugh. Such a pain. I bet she’s going to make this difficult. Not to mention gluten-free this and vegetarian that. Ugh. I hate that for us. We’re so easy. Why do some people make it so hard?
Lastly, I know I must have told you that I got Botox in my face – my masseter muscles to be exact - which was supposed to help with my migraines but instead froze my mouth so that now it doesn’t fully open or close which means Craig has to feed me. Not a big deal. He mashes up the food to a fine paste – it isn’t as noisy as you might think – sucks it up into a straw and then blows it into the back of my mouth. It takes a minute or so to get used to but otherwise the food just slides down my chin in a way that would make you just NOT want to be at dinner with us. So please excuse this while my muscles regenerate…they say 6-20 weeks. But other than that I’m good, excited to see you and looking forward. Anywhere you want. I’m easy.
